For us, camping has never just been a job. It has become a way of life, a shared passion – and, over time, something that brings our whole family together.
Our camping adventure began back in 2011, when we took the leap and bought Toftum Bjerge Camping – now Struer Camping. Back then, of course, we had no idea where the journey would take us. We only knew that we wanted to create a place where people could go on holiday, relax, and enjoy time together.
Pretty quickly, we realised that the best thing about camping life isn’t just the beautiful surroundings or life under the open sky. It’s the people. The little chats around the site, seeing guests again who come back year after year, the children finding new playmates – and the joy of helping create the setting for great holiday memories.
And maybe that’s exactly why, over time, one campsite became several.
In 2019, we took over Glyngøre Camping, which we now run together with our youngest son, Jakob. He’s also our site manager across the campsites and one of those people who’s always ready to lend a hand when needed.
In 2024, Himmerland Camping joined the family. Here, our eldest daughter, Maja, together with her husband, David, has embraced camping life and is now in charge of the site.
And in 2026, another exciting chapter in our story begins, when Thisted Camping becomes the family’s fourth campsite.
Here, it’s our second-oldest daughter, Sara, and her boyfriend, Thomas, who are taking over. They already know camping life really well and are looking forward to creating their own everyday life at Thisted Camping – of course with the rest of the family close by whenever an extra hand is needed.
Our second-youngest son, Jeppe, and his girlfriend, Cecilie, have also developed a taste for life as self-employed. They’ve chosen a slightly different path from the rest of the family and now run a hotel in Nykøbing Mors. So even though it didn’t become a campsite, the apple still didn’t fall far from the tree.
What’s special for us is that all our campsites are located around Limfjorden. This is where we were born and raised. Here we know the nature, the fjord, the towns and the people – and this is where our roots are.
That’s why it also means something truly special to us to be able to share the area with our guests.
Today, camping has become a family project across generations. We help each other, bounce ideas off each other, and step in when needed. Each site has its own life, its own atmosphere and its own people – but behind them all is the same family and the same joy in giving our guests a great holiday.
For us, camping is first and foremost about time together.
Time for family. Time for each other. Time for a chat with your neighbour, a walk along the fjord, an ice cream in the sun, or a quiet evening in front of the caravan.
Those are the moments we want to help create the setting for.
So when you visit one of our four campsites, we hope you don’t just feel like a guest at a campsite.

Our story – Sara and Thomas
We’re Sara and Thomas, and camping isn’t just our job – it has become an important part of our life and our family.
Sara grew up at her parents’ campsite, and even though her childhood was full of great memories, for many years she was sure she wouldn’t run a campsite herself as an adult. She wanted to go her own way and try something different.
But life had other plans.
When Sara and Thomas had their daughter, Lily, in 2024, Sara really began to see her upbringing in a new light. She felt how much it had meant to grow up with camping life close by – the community, the many people around her, and the feeling of always having a place that felt like home. It was something she now wanted to pass on to her own children.
For two seasons, Sara and Thomas were responsible for running Toftum Bjerge Camping. It was a fantastic and educational time, where they truly discovered that camping life was something they thrived in. Here they had the chance to develop their own ideas, meet lots of wonderful guests, and experience the joy of creating a campsite where people feel welcome.
Since then, the family has grown. Lily has got a little brother, Sigurd, and at the same time Thomas has qualified as a carpenter. He loves his trade, but camping life has truly found a place in his heart – and together we’ve felt ready for the next chapter.
So now we’re taking the next step and taking over the running of Thisted Camping.
Here, we’re looking forward to creating our own place, building on what we’ve learned over the past few years – and with plenty of ideas and determination. Thisted Camping has a very special location right by Limfjorden, and we dream of creating a site where families, couples and friends all feel at home.
For us, camping is about much more than pitches, cabins and facilities. It’s about people. The small moments, the good conversations, children playing, families coming together – and the memories you take home with you.
